Fun fact: the term “marijuana” was created by the US to install fear of Mexicans, Mexican-Americans. They combined two of the most common names in Mexico, Maria and Juan. This gave the US a reason to target immigrant with no warrants just based on suspicion of “marijuana”. It justified the deportation of undocumented ppl through these no knock raids..
